What you get

Six deliverables. Zero fluff.

01

The AI Opportunity Map

Every viable AI and automation opportunity in your business, ranked by ROI — with estimated annual savings, build cost, tooling, and risk for each.

02

Workflow cost analysis

The hours and payroll dollars your team spends on repetitive work, workflow by workflow. Most owners have never seen this number. It changes decisions.

03

Recommended build order

Which projects to do first, second, and never — sequenced so the early wins fund the rest. Includes what to buy off the shelf vs. build.

04

Data & tooling readiness review

What your current systems can support today, what's blocking the bigger wins, and the cheapest path to unblocking them.

05

Governance starter kit

A right-sized AI usage policy for your team: data boundaries, approval rules, and disclosure guidance. Enough guardrail, no bureaucracy.

06

Executive walkthrough

A live working session with your leadership team to walk the map, pressure-test the priorities, and decide what happens next.

The two weeks

Light on your team. Heavy on findings.

Total time we ask of your team: about 4–6 hours, spread across the engagement.

Week 1

Discovery

  • Kickoff with leadership: goals, constraints, numbers that matter
  • Interviews with the people doing the work (30–45 min each)
  • Systems and data walkthrough: what you run, what talks to what
  • Workflow mapping: where the hours actually go

Week 2

Analysis & delivery

  • Cost quantification: hours × payroll on every repetitive workflow
  • Opportunity scoring: savings, build cost, risk, and time-to-value
  • The AI Opportunity Map, written and priced
  • Executive walkthrough and decision session

The straight-answer standard

If the audit can't identify opportunities worth several multiples of its fee in annual savings, we'll tell you that in writing — along with what would need to change and when to look again. You should never pay for a roadmap to nowhere.

FAQ

AI Audit questions, answered

Straight answers, the same ones we'd give you on a call.

How much does the AI Audit cost?

The AI Audit is a fixed fee of $4,900 for companies up to roughly 100 employees; larger or multi-entity operations are quoted on the intro call. The fee is credited toward your first month if you continue into a fractional CAO engagement. There is no obligation to continue — the Opportunity Map is yours either way.

How long does an AI audit take?

Two weeks from kickoff to delivered roadmap. Week one is discovery — leadership kickoff, team interviews, and systems review. Week two is analysis and delivery: we quantify costs, score opportunities, and present the AI Opportunity Map in a live executive session. Your team's total time commitment is typically 4–6 hours across the two weeks.

How much of our team's time does it require?

About 4–6 hours total, spread across two weeks: a one-hour kickoff, a handful of 30–45 minute interviews with the people closest to the repetitive work, and the final walkthrough. We're deliberately light-touch — the audit shouldn't cost you the productivity it's designed to recover.

What if the audit doesn't find enough ROI?

Then we'll tell you that, in writing, with the numbers. Our standard is that the map should identify opportunities worth several multiples of the audit fee in annual savings; if your operation genuinely doesn't have them, you'll know for certain — which is itself worth having — and we'll point you at what to revisit and when. We don't recommend retainers we can't justify.

Do we have to hire YourCAO to build what the audit finds?

No. The AI Opportunity Map is written to be executable by anyone competent — your internal team, an agency you already trust, or us. Tool recommendations are vendor-neutral and we resell nothing. Most clients do continue with us, but the audit is designed to stand alone.

Is our business too small (or too non-technical) for an AI audit?

If you have at least a handful of people doing repetitive digital work — quoting, invoicing, scheduling, customer email, reporting — you have audit-worthy opportunities, and non-technical businesses are usually where the biggest untouched savings live. If you're genuinely too early, we'll say so on the free intro call before you spend anything.
